Due to the conformation of the coast and the presence of the near island of Palmaria, Portovenere provided an ideal shelter for the ships of the Romans who, in the first century B.C., established here a military port. Portovenere is connected to the “Cinque Terre” (“Five Lands”, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso) via a trail that runs up on the mount along the coast. Centre Pompidou Malaga

Opened to the public March 28th 2015, the new museum is due to an agreement between Malaga’s Mayor Francisco De La Torre Prados and Alain Seban, president of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The agreement determines – in exchange for the use of the name, the loan of 70 artworks and a temporary exhibition to be staged once a year – the payment of a million euros per year. A very reasonable fee, given the circumstances («Viaggi Sport Vacanze»).

(«Viaggi Sport Vacanze»)
