Abrivado in Saintes Maries de la Mer

Every year, in November, the “Abrivado” animates the beaches and the streets of Saintes Maries de la Mer in Camargue (France) for the yearly parade of bulls and horses.

“Abrivádo” – feminine, plural – is a Provencal word meaning “exaltation”, “exuberance”. The accent goes on the syllable before last: “Abrivádo”. 12 Days in the Venice Laguna

Cristina and I were in Venice to attend the 75. Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica, a cultural extravaganza culminating with the assignment of the Leone d’Oro award, (Golden Lion), a trophy in the shape of the traditional lion of Saint Marc, appointed by an international jury of movie professionals. Renowned film director Guillermo del Toro was this year president of the panel.

Birthday Party at Vinile Milano

Vinile Milano is one of the landmarks of the city nightlife. Located at 17 via Tadino, parallel to shopping neighborhood Corso Buenos Aires, Vinile Milano shares its address with the world-renowned art gallery Studio Marconi.

The term “vinyl” is commonly meant to define the stuff, starting the 1950s, way up to the 1980’s, analog sound storage mediums – better known as “records” – were made of.

An Evening of Tango in Galleria

Thursday night, a few thousand citizens stormed the Milano Galleria for a Tango in Galleria dance happening. This opportunity was offered within the initiative OnDance – Accendiamo la Danza (Let’s turn-on the dance) conceived June 11th through 17th 2018 by the ballet star Roberto Bolle for residents and guests.

A schedule dense with shows, events, free workshops of classic, contemporary and street dance with world-renowned masters, academic courses with as subject various genre of dance, labs of movement design, play dance, lessons at the horizontal bar, flash mobs, photo exhibits, live installations, night tango gatherings and marathons of swing.
