ATM stands for “Azienda Trasporti Milanese” or “Milan Transit Authority”, a company established 1931, owned by the Milan Municipality. Its oldest pride is the urban network of rails on which, since 1933, runs the fleet of streetcars, for it’s functionality: it’s cheap to manage and does not pollute. For the 90th anniversary of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milano has dedicated an anthological exhibition to the old master – whose sculpture Sphere Within Sphere stands in front of the UN building in Manhattan – that involves 7 major sites, including three squares and four shows.
