ARNALDO POMODORO AND MILANO. A LOVE STORY
For the 90th anniversary of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Milano has dedicated an anthological exhibition to the old master – whose sculpture Sphere Within Sphere stands in front of the UN building in Manhattan – that involves 7 major sites, including three squares and four shows. About 30 sculptures, created from 1955 to date, have been collected in the picturesque Sala delle Cariatidi at the Royal Palace of Milano, the main exhibit.
Just outside the Palace, for the first time, The Pietrarubbia Group, a work that underwent a long progression, faces the Cathedral for the first time.

In Piazza Meda, the Grande Disco keeps impressing the people of Milan that have elected the monument one of the most significant icons of the city.

In Largo Greppi one can go look with new interest at the Torre A Spirale welcoming the audience to the Piccolo Teatro.
Other exhibits of the artist – born in Pesaro but adopted by the city – are set up at the Triennale Palace (where an exhibit shows the projects of the Carapace – the Lunelli Winery in Umbria – and of the Simposio di Minoa in Sicily), Poldi-Pezzoli Museum, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation and other locations around the town.
